Appalachian Transition explores the emergent work by non-profit organizations and funders to advance a just and sustainable economic transition in the Central Appalachian region. For decades, Appalachian communities have struggled to overcome some of the highest rates of poverty, unemployment, and chronic health problems in the nation. As a member of the Appalachia Funders Network, your organization recognizes the potential for collective impact in the region. With funder and grantee partners, we can help create a sustainable and diversified regional economy that builds on existing assets to create multiple forms of wealth and promote opportunity and equity for all Appalachian individuals, families, and communities. Produced by the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation in association with the Appalachian Funders Network, this short video presents voices of hope from those in Appalachia doing the innovative work of building wealth within a region on the brink of change.
