Join us for the AFN Rural Re-Entry Workforce Convening, a highly participatory event aimed at reviewing new data and helping to build structures that will benefit individuals looking to re-enter the workforce from incarceration in rural areas. This in-person event will take place on November 2-3, 2023 at The Carnegie Hotel in Johnson City, TN.
Thanks to the support of the United Philanthropy Forum, AFN has partnered with East Tennessee State University to summarize existing research around re-entry practices and resources and how they relate to the health in Central Appalachia. This convening will create a space for us to come together as funders, practitioners, government officials, and more to collaborate, lift up best practices, and identify the biggest areas of need in our region. Ultimately, we will explore and define opportunities available to philanthropy to help bridge these gaps.
Details about speakers, site visits, etc. will be shared upon registration and as the program becomes finalized.
AFN greatly appreciates the practitioners in our region and values the important work they do. The Network strives to create a safe environment for funders, practitioners, and government officials to learn, grow, and collaborate together. In pursuit of this, all AFN events have a strict non-solicitation policy. This event is open to all funders (even those not already members of AFN), practitioners in the fields of criminal justice, health, and equity, government officials, and academics focused on this subject.
